Let Them Burn It!

burning_money_lgAs many of you already know, I am a Liberal/Socialist. What you might not know is that a family that is mostly Republican/Tea Party surrounds me. This contrasting difference in political opinion leads to many heated discussions that at times has turned into a full blown ideological confrontations.

My brother came to visit me a couple of days ago and, from the minute I opened the door to welcome him he blurred out “How are you liking your president now?” I instinctively knew where he was coming from… the “news” circulating around the extreme right media claiming that President Obama “apologized for the Affordable Care Act. My reply to my brother’s hello was – and this I stole from my son – I love him even more! He apologized for people that want to keep a crappy insurance instead of a more economical and better plan to keep it… I am still waiting for your president [Bush] to apologize for starting a war based on lies. He laughed and said that we “liberals” (as if that was an insult) always bring into the conversation President Bush and blaming him for everything. I replied that as far as I knew, I was not blaming Bush for a single thing; I was just pointing out that the bastard sent thousands of our youth to their death for a war based on lies and to this day he still has not apologized to America for his “mistake.”

Let me make this very clear. President Obama DID NOT apologized for Obamacare, actually he was very smart and decided to fight fire with fire.

Insurance companies informed some people that their plans were being cancelled due to Obamacare, without further explanation. This caused that the recipients of these cancellations were outraged and raised hell, reminding President Obama of his promise that they could keep their old insurance if they were happy with it.

Our President is a brilliant man and instead of refusing to make any changes ACA he apologized for the cancelations and made some changes to the ACA. With these changes, insurance companies are now able to provide their old insurance plans but they must inform the insurers exactly what their plan offers and what its not covered; what is more important, they have to inform the insurer that in the Health Insurance Marketplace there are other plans that cover much more for far less. In essence, the insurance companies must inform insurers of what they are giving up in order to keep their sub-standard and over-priced insurance plans. If these people want to burn their money let them, after all Republicans and Tea Partiers are known for not being the sharpest knives in the block!

A Tale of Two Cities: Calgary and Honolulu

obama-cruz
Rafael Edward Cruz, that’s the real name and spelling of Senator “Ted” Cruz. The correct spelling of his first name is Rafael, not Raphael as many have said.

Ted Cruz’s father is Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, Cuban born, and an opportunist that has claimed he helped Fidel Castro when he was only 14 years old and fled the island in 1957 when he realized Castro was a Communist that “was seizing private property and suppressing dissent.” There is one flaw with this story and which is that Castro didn’t claim he was a Communist until after the U.S. Embargo in 1962; Castro was not in power to seize any private or public property at that time Castro was not capable of suppressing anyone, much less any rebels when he was a rebel himself. Fidel Castro triumph was on January 1, 1959; two years after Mr. Cruz had fled Cuba.

According to his own words, when Cruz fled Cuba he went to Austin, Texas where according to his biography he attended the University of Texas without knowing any English and with only $100 that he had sewn into his underwear. How could he attend the University without knowing English is beyond me but more so with only $100, which regardless of the time when this happened, it was still not enough to cover rent and food much less to cover the expenses of studying at a University.  Mr. Cruz claims he worked as a dishwasher earning .50 cents an hour, still not enough to pay for that education.  Mr. Cruz graduated four years later and received a degree in mathematics and chemical engineering.  Also, his story about having only $100 sewn into his underwear is a story that is not original and which I guess he stole the anecdote from the biography of Isidor Straus (February 6, 1845 - April 15, 1912), whose mother sewed $1,200 in gold into his undershirt when he was traveling from Charleston to Liverpool in 1863. Using that story served Mr. Cruz Sr. by making his beginnings more humbled and his accomplishments greater.

Mr. Cruz moved to Alberta, Canada with his wife where they worked as geophysical consultants for the oil industry.   While in Canada Mr. Cruz became a Canadian citizen.  In 1970, Mr. Cruz and his second wife had their first and only child Rafael Edward  Cruz, who was born in Alberta Canada.  In 1974 the family returned to Houston, Texas.

Rafael Bienvenido Cruz today is, thanks to his son, very involved in politics and a loud voice as to how this country should be run. Today Mr. Cruz Sr. is, out of all things a pastor, I guess he figured that “career” was more lucrative than a geophysical consultant, more money with less work. He and his son claim to love this country, however, Rafael B. Cruz didn’t become a citizen of the United States until 2005. It took him 31 long years to love this country enough to renounce his Canadian citizenship and his Canadian son thought about renouncing his Canadian citizenship when he entertained the idea of becoming President of the United States… not until then was he interested in “fixing” that little problem. And we have to believe these individuals truly love this country!

For six long years I’ve heard birthers scream at the top of their lungs that President Obama was born in Kenya, that they need to see the birth certificate (no matter how many times it has been presented, they think it’s a fake) and that because President Obama was born in Kenya he can’t be President.

These same people want Sen. Ted Cruz to be the next President of the United States. They have no problem accepting that he was born in a foreign country, Canada, from a foreign father and an American mother. The fact that his mother is American makes him, automatically, a natural American and therefore, according to the Constitution, eligible to become President of this great nation. I am fine with that… but I need some clarification, some explanation to my questions. Why is Ted Cruz eligible to be the President and not President Obama? Let’s take a look at both men, shall we?

Given the above scenario… Why are the people who vehemently support Ted Cruz do not accept our President? Their paths are very similar: both their mothers were (or are) Americans; both their fathers were (or are) immigrants. One has shown that he was born in the United States, we even have the name of the Hospital where he was born, the other one was born in a foreign country and after a lengthy research I was not able to find out which hospital in Calgary was he born in.

You would ask yourself why one is accepted without hesitation and for the last 6 years the other one is not. The answer is quite simple: Ted Cruz’s skin is white; our President’s skin is black.

The Republicans and members of the Tea Party refuse to accept the reason of their rejection is racism because their own racism would be on display, but heir devotion to Ted Cruz speaks volumes that what matters to them is the color of the skin and nothing else.

4 More for 44... We built this!

After a year of deceptions and easily to debunk lies and when my stress levels were about to give me a heart attack, my faith in America has been restored, at least in some degree and I am glad its all over. Today is a day to celebrate, we earned this success, and we did build this!

I am glad that the majority of America was able to see through the hypocrisy and backed the man in Washington that is looking after their interests and not those of a corporation. Many will argue that President Obama is just like any other politician and that he protects corporations, I honestly don’t believe that but assuming he does he doesn’t place their interest above ours, the contrary is true.

What I am amazed and perplexed is the American decision to maintain the House of Representatives sequestered by the Republicans. It seems that two years of doing nothing while getting paid was not enough so they were rewarded with two more years of paid vacations so they can venture even deeper into all the vaginas in America. When you hear that John Boehner and Eric Cantor are still in Congress, the pathetic and the buffoon continuing to obstruct everything that will help the nation move forward, while one weeps as if he has a pubic hair caught between his balls every time he has to face the nation and while the other idiot sarcastically smiles taking pride at their strategy while America suffers is too much for me. Having to watch these two morons for at least two more years is beyond my comprehension. What were the people thinking when they re-elected them? Why are they punishing me so viciously? However, I am thrilled that Allen West was kicked out and I am ecstatic that Alan Grayson won; Florida did the right thing for once. And I am thrilled that Elizabeth Warren is back where she should be, no one fights harder for the American people as she does.

I often joke that I will run for office; I am seriously considering it now. It’s a great job don’t you think? About 3 months of real vacation, another months of holidays and you can screw up as much as you want that you will not lose your job. You see, your boss is the American people whom if you feed them enough crap they will re-elect you. It is a position with great job security, you can’t get fired and there is no 3-month probation period, you get hired and that’s it… the job is yours until you die or retire regardless of how efficiently you perform your job.

We all know that the Republicans in Washington will continue to obstruct every effort the President does to move the economy and the country forward. The obstructionist tactic didn’t place their positions in jeopardy even when polls said the people believed it was the worse Congress in history but they managed to get re-elected, so the struggle will continue. But there is one big difference this time… The President doesn’t have to worry about a re-election and they do. For now, all I care is that Democracy won and the country will move forward!

With The Eyes On The Nation

Finally the end of the election cycle is near.  In three days everything will be over and hopefully President Obama will be re-elected.

I've been hearing that the House will remain hostage to the Republican Party.  That is unbelievable to me; after enduring two years of practically a stand still in Congress particularly in the House of Representatives, I can't believe the American people is going to reward these hypocrites by granting them a re-election and the control of the House to perpetuate their agenda of getting paid by the American people and not work.  I'm losing faith in the American people, I truly think that not only there is an obesity epidemic in this country, but as their bodies get fatter and fatter their brains get smaller and smaller!

Anything is possible.  When we have a candidate such as Mitt Romney who changes opinions on political stands more often than he changes underwear.  A candidate that has been taped saying that 47% of Americans do not matter to him.  A candidate that believes the middle-class in America makes between $200,000 to $250,000 and who has made billions outsourcing jobs needed in America in order to profit from it; a candidate that  is currently under investigation for profiteering.  A candidate that lies so often that he can't recall what he stands for... when such candidate it's almost tied with President Obama one has to lose faith on the American people.  I really thought they were smarter, that they could smell or at least recognize a rat when they saw it, apparently not.

Mitt Romney - A few of his flip, flops that he can't keep track of.

If after a year of this display of double-talk, dishonesty and deception in an era where information is so readily available, the American people elect this moron as a president then this country will deserve everything that it will get.  If this happens, there will be no other valid reason other than this is and will remain for a long time a very racist country, so racist that the American people prefers to destroy the country rather than having a black man as president.  But I still have hope that President Obama will be re-elected, I have to believe that we as a country are better than that.  I have to believe that for Americans what matters most is the well being of the nation, not the color of the flesh.

Below are the speeches from President Obama during his last week of campaigning.  How can people prefer Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and their extremism over President Obama is beyond me.

The eyes, it is said, are the windows to the soul... Looking at Mitt Romney's eyes gives me the chills because most of the times he has the gaze of a lunatic, a familiar lunatic.  The same cannot be said about President Obama's eyes, his eyes reflect the vision of a good man, an honest man and a trustworthy leader.

I Voted Today

When I woke up today I was all excited because I was going to vote, first time I was to vote early.

I took my morning shower and wore my blue t-shirt with Forward on the front and Obama on the back along with Obama-Biden 2012; I embellished the t-shirt with some buttons mocking Romney and Ryan and got on my way to my precinct.

The precinct is in an affluent area. As I drove into the parking lot with my car full of stickers reflecting my political views, I got a mixed reaction from the people walking by. Some, not that many, gave me a thumbs up, others… well, let’s just say that if looks could kill, I would not be writing this right now.

When I got there the line that was already about two blocks long. Flustering as if moths attracted to the light, there were people from both parties representing almost every candidate in the ballot, providing last minute propaganda as to why you should vote for this or that candidate. I find this to be a waste of time, funds and paper, since at this point in the game most people have already made up their minds, but I guess it’s part of the “tradition”, like movies and popcorn.

There were some angry faces in the group. A tall, black haired woman that was obviously Hispanic (not because of her looks, because she was speaking Spanish) looked extremely upset. Apparently someone had mentioned that president Obama was slightly ahead in the polls. She kept saying that we couldn’t afford four more years of the same. I found her comments outrageous, but decided to keep my mouth shut. I was determined not to give them the pleasure of saying we Liberals or Democrats were not civil… I had resolved to behave and I was going to stick to my guns.

There was an elderly couple behind me. The woman was sporting a t-shirt from a local radio station that I know it’s Republican. We began to talk; they told me that she was a Republican and her husband an Independent.

Anyway, I was committed to be a civil citizen. To behave as they certainly weren’t expecting from a Democrat, from a Liberal. I smiled all the time that I heard them say all the bullshit they kept repeating and that we all have heard so many times.

Then she touched the economy and how “mighty” Romney will “save” our economy. I allowed her to finish praising the Lord of Kolob and after she had finished her well learned rhetoric, I asked her if I could offer my opinion and of course, she said yes. I said, well more than my opinion I want you to answer one question. If Romney is going to cut the tax rate by 20% across the board (she nodded, very happy), if he is going to give tax cuts to corporations (again, a grim on her face and more nodding) and in top of that he is going to triple the budget of our military, which by the way is the largest budget in the world… Can you explain to me how can Romney get us out of debt if all he has offered as a budget plan is giving money away instead of producing any income? How can he say that he will bring down the deficit when he will have to borrow from that “hateful China” in order to triple the military budget? Her reply stunned me. She said, I know it sounds illogical, but Romney can do it. I told her that it was mathematically impossible and she said that it was not impossible with Romney’s mathematics... I laughed and said: sorry, but numbers are numbers and 2 +2 will never equal 7. She persisted, against all logic, that Romney could do it.

She told me that president Obama had 4 years to take us out of the recession and that during the first two years he had a Democratic Congress and had accomplished nothing. Really? I replied. Let me refresh your memory – I said - first of all we never had the majority in Congress – in case you don’t know it takes 60% to pass anything in Congress and we never had those numbers. She agreed, at least that was good. I continued saying that since day one, Republicans in Congress made it very clear and said publicly that their number one objective was to make of President Obama a one-term president. Again she nodded, agreeing with me. Also, the Republicans in Congress obstructed every single effort presented by the president that would have helped the middle-class and the country to prosper and to my surprise, she agreed with me! I mentioned that the country was in shambles when president Obama took office and that every economist was predicting another depression and that he, against all odds, had stopped this from happening. I asked her if she was going to vote any of those Congressmen out and she said no, that they were doing their “job” and that she agreed with them since President Obama was a Communist and he had to be stopped. I looked at her perplexed and told her: A communist? Nothing could be farther from the truth, he is a centered Democrat and those accusations are completely false! So you are going to reward them by keeping them there. You are going to reward their criminal behavior – she wanted to interrupt me but I didn’t allow her. I said, yes, criminal behavior because while they were getting paid to work for America they were golfing and doing nothing. Criminal because they ignored separation of Church and State and, all the bills that they have created in Congress have mainly been related to abortion and women’s issues, not jobs, not the economy not anything that will help the country move forward but you, you are rewarding them and telling them that their dirty tricks and irresponsible behavior is the way to go.

She looked at me and said, I’m sure that if Romney gets elected Democrats will do the same thing. I was fuming but maintained my composure. Let me remind you – I told her – that when Bush was in power the Democrats never used that tactic and I sure hope that if Romney wins, the Democrats in Congress pay back with the same. She got offended, told me that would be an awful thing to do because what mattered most was the country and not the different political ideals. Oh, so when Republicans do this it’s OK, but if Democrats do it then it is awful? Gosh… No wonder the country is the way it is!

The hypocrisy of these people is beyond reasoning. Their logic is inexistent and there is no way to reason with them. It is because of people like them that this country is going down the drain. It is because of people like them that nothing gets done.

Fortunately enough, it was my turn to vote and I walked away from that cancer that was eroding my self-control... one more second and I would have smacked her!

Cat and Mouse Debate

Last night was the first Presidential Debate. I’ve been anxiously waiting for it, as I was sure that President Obama was going to destroy Romney in a one-to-one debate. However, nothing could be further from the truth; unfortunately, it was the other way around.

Coincidentally, last night was President Obama’s wedding anniversary and actually he opened his statement by mentioning it. Was this the reason why President Obama looked so sad, uninterested and basically distant during the debate? I have no idea but whatever it was I hope it is a temporary thing.
We have all grown accustomed to believe and accept that President Obama is great at delivering speeches, as an orator. Even the Right-Wing acknowledges this, but last night he stuttered quite a lot, he didn’t portray himself as the self-secure, firm and resolute individual we have seen so many times during the last 5 years. Sadly, last night President Obama looked like a cornered mouse and Romney as the hungry cat.
Is David Plouffe advising the President to be humble, meek and to play the “poor me” role? Last night, after the debate, Plouffe was interviewed by MSNBC and he was quite pleased with the outcome. He mentioned that President Obama was great at presenting what needs to be done during the next four years and that is up to a point true. The problem is, President Obama didn’t debunk one single lie presented by Romney – even when we have an arsenal of information on record about what Mitt Romney has stated up to last week. President Obama was unmoved by the lies, didn’t bother to expose Romney and his lies.
Then there was the body language. While Mitt Romney projected a self-secured image of himself (a man that lost so many points in the polls after his fateful 47% video) President Obama looked frail, insecure, humble, weak and uninterested… I was waiting for him to yawn at any time!
There have been so many excuses given to justify President Obama’s performance, one of them is that he hasn’t debated in four years but I differ. President Obama debates (or at least I hope he does) on a daily basis when confronting a Republican Congress that objects to everything he proposes. Last night was no different but the message the President sent the American people was that he was not in it. If he can’t fight his contender with passion and determination, how are we supposed to believe that he will fight for us in Congress?
I’m begging President Obama to change strategy. I suggest that he stops playing the “cool”, “reasonable” or “victim” role and play the role he holds: the Presidential role. At this point when we elections are around the corner is about the time when a candidate has to show the American people and the world that they have blood running through those veins instead of cold water, to show passion and determination, to stand firm and unmask your opponent. In other words, it is the time to grow a spine and a big set of balls!

The Man That Wants To Be King But Will Settle For President

I went to see President Bill Clinton give a speech at FIU, U.S. Century Arena on Tuesday, September 11. Needless to say, I was extremely excited and I was even more excited when I got to sit in the front row. I was so close that I swear could smell him!

Clinton’s speech, beside a brief recount about where he and his family were during the fateful attacks of 9/11, was a short version of his speech during the DNC Convention. No doubt that Clinton is the “Secretary of Explaining Stuff” as President Obama, jokingly but rightfully, has called him. To see the video of Clinton’s speech at FIU, click here.

Then I returned home to find out about what had taken place in Lybia and Egypt. What horrors these representatives of our country in faraway lands must have endured! I felt so sorry for their families here and abroad. I learned that one of the biggest advocates for the people of Libya succumbed to the irate mob – died by the hands of those that he was always defending. Ambassador Chris Steven was the loudest voice Libyans had in the United States, but a movie produced and directed by a Sam Bacile, a real-estate developer from California – according to the Wall Street Journal - aired in YouTube depicting the prophet Mohammad as a homosexual. To make matters even worse, it was uploaded dubbed into Arabic, if that wasn’t a clear and irresponsible provocation then nothing is. According to the article from WSJ, Sam Bacile tried to incriminate the Jewish community by claiming that he was a Jewish-American and that he received over $5 million in donations from the Jewish community to create the clip in question but, after some research by WSJ it seems that “Bacile” is Coptic, has an Egyptian background and is fluent in Arabic, the film was promoted by Morris Sadek, head of the National American Coptic Assembly. It is obvious to me that the film was released to provoke an uproar, to incite Muslim fanatics to do precisely what they did and, by linking the film to the Jewish community create a conflict between the Muslim countries and Israel. There must be an in depth investigation about this but for some strange reason I think, I sense that those with enough power in this country and who are desperately wishing for a war in the Middle East to “defend” Israel might be behind this (Sheldon Adelson comes to mind), all of those involved should be brought to justice because they knew perfectly well what the outcome of their actions would be.

Mitt Romney couldn’t keep his mouth shut and this is one of the reasons why I suspect Sheldon Aldeson to be behind this. Romney has not picked up any points after the RNC Convention; he is trailing behind and in a desperate effort to discredit the President decided to make a public announcement about what took place in Libya and Egypt. Following is his attack on President Obama and his administration about it:

“I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi.

It’s disgraceful that the Obama Administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

The above message on the subject cannot be found on Romney's website, but I had the clarity of mind to take a picture of the screen, to see it click here. Apparently Romney took it down after being severely criticized by the media and by many influential Republicans that were openly saying that he (Romney) was not fit to lead on foreign policy. As it is customary with Romney, he bluntly lied about the stand of our President and even though it has been proven that President Obama did not do such a thing, that hasn’t stopped Romney from airing ads maintaining and spreading the lie. He is a disgrace, a wannabe president eager to start a war, any war with anyone, take your pick: Russia, China, Iran, Libya, Egypt, Cuba, and Venezuela among others.

President Obama did speak about the uproar in Libya and Egypt. He delivered a presidential speech that not only rejected the actions that had taken place but also was trying to appease a very sensible situation in those countries while reaffirming our beliefs and clearly stating that we will not tolerate attacks against our citizens. Unlike Romney, President Obama was consciously preventing matters from escalating into a possible war. To read the transcript, click here.

Romney tried to pin on the President and his administration a message posted by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo while the protests were taking place, the message has been deleted from the Embassy website but this is what was posted by them on September 11, to see the picture of their website click here:

U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement

September 11, 2012

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo didn’t follow protocol to clear the messages through the White House first, but we must understand that they were under siege at the time and desperately posting on their official site as well as in Twitter without clearance, we can all identify with their fear.

The embassy also posted several messages in Twitter, which for the most part have been removed; to read them, click here.

Once more, Mitt Romney publicly displayed how incompetent he is and what little, if any, decorum he has. This is not a man that cares for the American people, for strengthening our relationship with the world or for our economy. This is a man too eager to become president to start a war, ignoring diplomacy over aggression and disregarding our already shaken economy. What does he think, that the U.S. Treasury has a Swiss account like he does? Is Romney planning to pay for these wars with a voucher? Giving tax breaks to the wealthy and engaging in more wars equates to the total collapse of the United States, he is so arrogant that he doesn’t give a damn about it, he just wants to be king!

The Puppet Show

It is common knowledge that politics is a “dirty” business, but Republicans have taken it to the filthy level. It is repulsive to see how they have no scruples. Sadly, they know perfectly well that their base is very gullible and that in their hateful minds any lies that it’s constructed to tarnish our President’s reputation will not only be believed but also welcomed, generating the anger and ire of the Tea-baggers and the Republican base.

I take the latest comment of the GOP’s puppet, Mitt Romney, as a desperate action. After his disastrous European tour, where Romney illustrated his qualifications as a contender for Head of State and where he was the subject of mockery, both abroad and at home, because of his ineptitude Romney has resorted to this new attack on President Obama which is nothing more than an attempt to salvage a comatose campaign that is desperately grasping for air.
President Obama's lawsuit claiming it is unconstitutional for Ohio to allow servicemen and women extended early voting privileges during the state’s early voting period is an outrage.

The brave men and women of our military make tremendous sacrifices to protect and defend our freedoms, and we should do everything we can to protect their fundamental right to vote.

I stand with the fifteen military groups that are defending the rights of military voters, and if I'm entrusted to be the commander-in-chief, I'll work to protect the voting rights of our military, not undermine them.
For those of you that don't know where Mitt Romney got his idea about President Obama suing the State of Ohio and for those that might believe such allegations, let me tell you exactly what the suit is all about, in simple words and not the legal mumble jumble. The State of Ohio just passed a law [HB224] that will impose different dead-lines for in-person early voting between the military and civilians.  Ohioans were able to  early vote starting three days prior to Election Day, with this new law this is prohibited except for the military.  All the suit is demanding is the restoration of the three day early voting rights to all Ohioans, not just the military.  That's basically it.

President Obama is not against the military, quite the contrary. But President Obama wants the rights of all citizens to be honored and respected, not just a few. As it is customary with Romney and the GOP, they don’t dare debating on true issues because they know they will lose, so they twist the truth and hope that it will stick.

Republicans know they can't fight President Obama using the truth, so they must fabricate lies. We’ve seen them do it over and over: Obama was born in Kenya; Obama needs to show his birth certificate; Obama wants to implement a “death panel”; Obama is gay; Obama will favor African-Americans; Obama wants a racial war… and the list of unfounded lies goes on and on. It is truly heartrending to realize that there are people that are too lazy to research for the truth in an era where there is nothing secret anymore. At a time when with a few strokes at the keyboard and the Internet you can find out everything you want to know. But the right base is lazy, mostly uneducated and let’s face it, it is far easier and takes less effort to believe all the absurdities reported by Fox News (no news there), the ridiculous never ending accusations of Michele Bachmann and those of the GOP’s marionette, Mitt Romney.

America can't afford to have another puppet for president. America can't go back in time as the Right wants... The future is always ahead of us, never behind us... Let's move forward, let's re-elect President Obama for four more years and remove all the Tea-baggers and Obstructionists from Congress. If we want to move forward, we can't surround ourselves with retrogrades.

Sacrificial Lamb

We can find real and solid evidence of what truly matters for Romney and what his core values are under the Regulations tab on his website.

Mitt Romney begins by saying: “Multiple factors contribute to America’s faltering performance. But a major part of the problem over successive presidencies, and one that the Obama administration has sharply exacerbated, is the regulatory burden on the economy. Regulations function as a hidden tax on Americans, with the federal government’s own Small Business Administration placing the price tag at $1.75 trillion annually—much higher than the entire burden of individual and corporate income taxes combined.”

He asks, “How did we reach this state of affairs?” and blames the Federal government and regulations for everything that has gone wrong lately. He desperately tries to portray big corporations and Wall Street as the victims of a blood-sucking vampire named Barack Obama. While these poor corporations and the good people of Wall Street are doing their best to amass more and more wealth regardless of how they obtain it, the sinister government persists in regulating and obstructing them in their effort to make even more money by cheating and stealing from the worthless middle-class. Why would President Obama want to regulate the banking industry and corporations? What does President Obama knows about the market and banking? Does President Obama know more than Wall Street or has the same interest they do to succeed? Wall Street and other corporations are capable of regulating themselves as the responsible companies they are, we must believe this and forget the economic chaos that began just 5 years ago because another puppet thought the exact same thing.

Romney wants to repeat George W. Bush's tactics, but I think he will be even worse and certainly more dangerous than G.W. Bush ever was, if that is possible.

Romney will repeal every one of President Obama’s mandates – even the good ones. We must understand that if it was signed by President Obama, a moderate Democrat that happens to be black, then by default whatever he signed into law must be repealed, period.

Romney also promises to repeal the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act. He will not change it, he will repeal it. Mitt Romney doesn’t believe in regulating Wall Street, as it is his opinion that the economic crisis was not Wall Street’s fault, rather it was the people’s fault for not being savvy enough to know that the bankers were screwing them. He believes that it was our irresponsible desire for a better life that forced bankers to reaffirm that we could afford those houses on our salaries.

It was our mistake for the banks to tell us the price of our houses were going to increase and it was our fault that these banks broke our mortgages in many parts which in turn they sold to various countries around the world making it impossible to collect or sell when the economy crash happened. It was our fault to think that it was safe for our 401K savings to be placed on their hands. Bankers had nothing to do with it. Wall Street's false speculations to drive the prices of stocks and commodities had nothing to do with the economic crash… if anyone is to blame it must be the stupid little investors that believed them!

Among the many things the Dodd-Frank Reform Act ensures is that there will never be another bank “too big to fail” where we, the citizens of this country, will have to help with our tax money those that ripped us off. The irresponsibility of Wall Street drove our economy, and that of the world as well, to the biggest economic crisis since the Big Depression which effects we are still feeling to this day. But Mitt Romney doesn’t want Wall Street to be regulated; he wants to repeal the one regulation that is keeping Wall Street and most banking institutions at bay. It is the Dodd-Frank Reform Act that has forced credit cards companies to be transparent about what they charge us. It is the Dodd-Frank Reform Act that keeps the lavished expenses of bankers under control. But Mitt Romney wants Wall Street and bankers to be like whores out of control, there's no fun if they are restrained. Romney doesn’t want to reform this regulation, he wants to annul it.

Not so with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act signed by George W. Bush, he just wants to reform it. This is a good bill despite that it was signed by Bush. In a nutshell, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (better known by SOX) is intended for Public companies to accurately maintain and present their financial reports, preventing fraud that will affect not only the companies but also the investors. This is bill was sponsored by Senator Paul Sarbanes [D-MD] and Representative Michael G. Oxley [R-OH-4] after the financial scandals of Tyco International, Adelphia, Peregrine Systems, WorldCom and who can forget, Enron. Well, Mitt doesn’t want to repeal it but wants to amend it. I wonder what changes will he make, but I can assure you he will go easy on his friends!

We heard this litany before. We heard it from George W. Bush who lifted most of the regulations that were in place for Wall Street and the banking industry and which is what caused the economic collapse of 2007… and Mitt Romney wants to follow Bush’s steps! There are idiots out there that have forgotten who’s to blame for the condition our country is in and what’s worse, they’ve forgotten what brought us to where we are today: deregulation.

Romney also attacks the EPA. He mentions EPA and the Obama Administration’s war on “carbon dioxide.” For those that don’t know what the war on “carbon dioxide” is, it’s nothing more than the regulation of the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere by a utility plant or the use of carbon dioxide in hydraulic fracturing or what is commonly known as fracking. That is what Romney is complaining about, particularly that the EPA is opposing fracking in areas where there are serious risks of contaminating the potable water in the area. Mitt Romney says he will ask Congress to change the environmental laws to be more “cost efficient,” in other words, rush the permits for drilling anywhere, in any fashion as long as there is an oil company that wants to extract oil, even if it poisons our water supply. And, on top of all that, he will ask the government to provide a few years for companies to comply with whatever environmental rules and guidelines he leaves in place; no rush, let the corporations take their sweet time complying with environmental regulations.

His “concern” is how much the government is spending by enforcing regulations. He makes no mention about how many lives can be saved by these regulations or that the regulations imposed on Wall Street will save us from another collapse in the future. And when I say save “us” I don’t mean the country I mean us, the citizens who through our hard work and by contributing with our unfair share of taxes are the ones that bailed out these fat cats after they ripped us off. No, Romney conveniently leaves those “little” details out of his website. For Romney companies' wealth and well being will always be a priority above that of a citizen and, if you read his website you will realize that he doesn’t hide this fact, he might not express it clearly but he doesn't hide it. He knows that the followers from the Republican Party are supporting him merely because they hate “the black guy in the white house.” These people will not bother to interpret what he is saying they will simply swallow whatever he pushes down their throat.

Under his Plan section, he promises to “tear down” the majority of the regulations created by the Obama administration. He also promises to change the “federal bureaucracy” in order to “ensure economic growth” as the most important factor when new regulations are created. In other words, money and not health, money and not the environment, money and not people is his number one priority.

Out of all the regulations implemented by the government, only the ones created by the Obama administration will be annulled, previous ones will be “carefully scrutinized” but not necessarily repealed.

Romney says that he will repeal Romneycare, oops! Sorry, Obamacare. It doesn’t matter that the Health Care plan signed by President Obama was based on Mitt Romney's own health care plan. The Koch brothers hate it and therefore, so does he. It is for that fact that Mitt Romney doesn’t deserve any respect. When a person is capable of hating and criticizing their own creation to please those that contribute financially to their campaign, which means that they are willing to sell their soul to the devil to get what they want. This type of people has no dignity, no self-respect and no values.

The worst part of his “plan” is the regulatory zero cap. That simply means that in order for a new regulation to be implemented, all previous regulations will be null and void and only the last one is valid. Let’s say that there is a regulation that prohibits certain ingredients in our food because it has been proven they cause dangerous or life threatening side effects. A new regulation is created that doesn’t mention all the prohibited ingredients – perhaps because companies are no longer using them. The prohibition of these ingredients will no longer be prohibited because they will not be in the new regulation and the previous regulations where repealed. This concept will come in effect for every single regulation that exists. Romney is proposing the regulatory zero cap to save money. If the government were to ensure that this oversight would not happen, then it will have to spend millions hiring an army of readers to go through each and every regulation (some regulations are 800 pages or more) with a fine comb to make sure that what is vital remains in the new regulation. This will not only be time consuming but also will be a tremendous risk for the safety of the country, the environment and the citizens.

Of course, he is also proposing a reform on the legal liability system “to prevent spurious litigation,” but if the regulatory zero cap comes into effect, most future litigation will not be "spurious" it will be the result of Romney's irresponsible and greedy behavior that caused the assault on the environment and the health of the citizens. Mitt Romney wants to change the laws so whatever happens as a result of the zero cap regulations, we won't be able to litigate, fight back or be compensated.

That is Romney, the Koch brothers, Citizen’s United and the GOP for you. For them money is god and we are the sacrificial lamb.

Latin America: The Insanity Tactic

Political Cartoonist: Matt Wuerker
Moving forward reviewing Mitt Romney’s observations about current Issues, I opened the tab  "Latin America."
Romney opens the subject with what is rapidly becoming the Republican’s trademark: fear. He claims that the current administration is jeopardizing the “security, democracy, and increased economic ties with America.” Romney, of course, fails to mention why he believes that. Instead, he places the blame on President Obama for taking him three years to sign the Colombia Trade Agreement. To be honest, I am not thrilled with this or any other Trade Agreements; so far all they have been good for is to destroy our industries.

However, this particular agreement was already approved when President Obama took office.

Colombian workers and union members have been killed for 25 years by groups that oppose unions, and only a handful of people have ever been convicted for these crimes. The trade agreement signed by President George W. Bush required no action from the government of Colombia to protect Colombian workers and Unions. It took all this time for President Obama’s administration to negotiate with the Colombian government to secure the protection for these workers and the unions as well as the commitment from the government to investigate and prosecute crimes against workers and unions. As a result, the Colombia government agreed to the terms demanded by President Obama and the agreement was finally signed. As it is usual not only with Mitt Romney but with all republicans, he conveniently failed to mention the reason, after all it was related to the safety of workers and unions, which for Romney and republicans are both worthless. In the same paragraph Romney talks about Cuba and Venezuela, drug trafficking and the violence that is eminent in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Again, he fails to mention how or why the current administration is to be blamed for what is happening in the Americas.
On the next paragraph he outlines what he considers President Obama’s “failures.” Romney holds the President responsible for not reversing what it is happening throughout Latin America and bluntly accuses President Obama of worsening the situation by “reaching out to those nations that are working against our interests and values.” Those nations, I am assuming, can only be Cuba and Venezuela.
As every single republican has done in the past – with no results – Romney advocates the same strategy, which is to strengthen the embargo to Cuba and apparently severing all communications with Venezuela. After half a century since the implementation of the embargo that has yielded no beneficial results neither for the dissident Cubans in Miami nor for the Cubans in the island, Republicans criticize President Obama for making it easier for the exiled Cuban population in the United States to visit or financially help their relatives trapped in the island. I have always found it odd that republicans, who claim to own the sole proprietorship on family values and the likes, can't understand what it means to have a child, parents and loved ones suffering when you can help and have a government telling you "let them eat cake!"  And those Cubans holding a seat in Congress are the worst of them all, it is easy to be adamant to help the people in the island when you have no one there and you are living in the lap of luxury.

Fifty years later, republicans still support the failed embargo; I think they have never heard the definition of insanity… Perhaps, that explains their erratic, demented and illogical approach to the problems of this nation. Maybe they repeat the same tactics, over and over, expecting a different result to proof that they are insane in the eventuality that the citizens of this country ever accuse them of treason and demand their incarceration. I don’t know, but the embargo is the biggest failure that has been beneficial to one person: Fidel Castro. It is thanks to the embargo that the world sees Castro as a victim, a hero, an inspiration and a role model. It is due to the embargo that the world sides with a tyrant, viewing this tyrant as a martyr – the modern version of the biblical story of David and Goliath. Republicans know this too well, but they will never vote to lift the embargo.  There has always been a trade with Cuba but restricted to only food and medicine.  Only  big corporations can benefit from this trade, Cubans in exile, Americans and small businesses cannot. Click here to see a list of companies that were issued a license to trade with Cuba from 1985 to 2001 as well as other pertinent information dating back to 2001.
I have tried to find a current list of licensed exporters to Cuba, but it was impossible. I suspect that republicans have special interest for them to refuse to lift the embargo; they never do anything for nothing. So far, it hasn’t worked and you would think that after half a century they would try something different, but that is not the case. We all know that the only thing that motivates republicans is money and their immovable position on the matter makes me think that they must be getting some sort of rewards from the few companies authorized to trade with Cuba, which are all large corporations and many pharmaceutical companies.

The Venezuela-USA relationships are not the friendliest; I guess that Mitt Romney is following the ballistic obsession of most republicans.   Negotiations and a cold relationship between the countries is considered by Romney to be reaching out, nothing but invading to destitute the elected President of Venezuela is valid.
Romney continues his relentless attack on President Obama by accusing him of siding with Honduras’ ex-President Manuel Zelaya. Apparently Mitt Romney has no idea what diplomacy is or that the United States will never accept or intervene in a coup d’état, which is what happened in Honduras. Romney doesn’t understand how diplomacy works or that the United States can comment, negotiate, recommend but should not interfere in matters from other countries. At the same time, unless resolved by the country in question, the United States can’t recognize a government taken by force, militarily as it happened in Honduras. That concept is unbeknownst to him.
Romney's “Plan”
“Mitt Romney will chart a different course. Under a Romney administration, the United States will pursue an active role in Latin America by supporting democratic allies and market-based economic relationships, containing destabilizing internal forces such as criminal gangs and terrorists, and opposing destabilizing outside influences such as Iran.”
The above is the core of what his “plan” is.  Apparently, it is his opinion that President Obama doesn’t do any of these things. He insinuates that President Obama has ignored Latin America or the violence that is infesting the continent. Romney insists in free trade, which I am sure will have no demands for workers, concentrating only in the profits corporations can obtain. He dreams of the day when, through these free trade agreements, these countries can become members of the “Reagan Economic Zone.” The “Reagan Economic Zone” is a fantasy of Mitt Romney and republicans which is nothing more than a conglomerate of countries where the lucky members [corporations] can enjoy doing business without regulations, crushing unions and paying less to their workers. The ultimate republican fantasy!
Mitt Romney also wants to create a “Unified Hemispheric Joint Task Force on Crime and Terrorism.” That's a mouthful! Romney wants military-to-military training between the United States and Mexico to combat the narco-trafficking and narco-terrorists. Every administration has failed on this absurd "war on drugs," including President Obama and so will any president that comes after unless the strategy changes. In countries where the vast majority of people live below the poverty line, the only possibility these people see to come out of the slums is by trafficking drugs. We, as a country, are largely to blame; we are the consumers. As long as there is a demand there will be a supply and Romney, who claims to be a savvy businessman, should know this. The only way the violence associated with drugs and the lure of wealth will cease is by legalizing drugs, tax them and control them. If we were to dispense the drugs as we do alcohol and control it as we do with any prescription drug the demand will greatly diminish. The income produced by the distribution of these “legal” drugs, could be used to provide rehabilitation for the addicts and the ease our debt. That is the only way we can, once and for all, end the drug-trafficking violence and reduce the drug addiction, nothing else will work.
Mitt Romney closes this section stating that we will use the “full power of the presidency” to complete the border fence. That fantastic and super expensive fence that, just as the “war on drugs,” will serve for nothing but an exaggerated waste of funds that we don’t have but that is a immense selling point to the greatest oxymoron in this country: The Right.

In Union Lies the Strength

I continue scrutinizing Mitt Romney’s views on some of the issues on his page, anyone can find them on his website. The issue that caught my attention was his stand on Labor; particularly because we all know he is not a “job creator” rather he is more like a “job killer” so I was very interested in finding out what his “views” are on the subject.
Surprisingly, Mitt Romney’s opinion on the issue is too long. I will split my comments to make it easier on the reader and myself. This is the first of three posts on the issue of Labor.
It comes to no surprise that he is against unions. To mitigate his dislike for unions he elaborates on the past glories and accomplishments for the benefit of the American worker that unions have achieved in the past. But for Mitt Romney Unions are damaging businesses and they need to be eliminated or changed to be beneficial to corporations. For a man that has made a career increasing the wealth of Corporations at the expense of regular people and shows little or no remorse for the thousands of workers that lost their jobs while he filled the pockets of Bain Capital nothing but disdain towards Unions is to be expected.
On his site, if you read carefully, you will be able to understand what is what Mitt Romney wants to protect. He says on his page, and I quote, “But today, the effects of unionization have changed in ways that need to be recognized. Too often, unions drive up costs and introduce rigidities that harm competitiveness and frustrate innovation.” What he means by this is that Unions will not allow companies to abuse workers, to make them work in an unsafe environment and that unions demand that worker gets compensated fairly for the work they do. That is what companies have been striving for, pay less, offer less or no benefits and not be responsible for providing a safe environment where they have to spend money to secure the worker or provide them with the safety gear necessary to protect them, after all… that cost money and we all know corporations couldn’t care less for the workers, all it matters is the shareholders’ profits.
He goes on to blame Unions for manufacturing jobs disappearing from this country. As if outsourcing had nothing to do with it! He claims that most Americans believe that Unions in reality hurt the American worker. I hope this is not true. The only way the American worker can fight injustices, discrimination, unfairness and harassment in the workplace is through the Union. The only reason we have a 40-hour week, days off, vacations paid, health insurance and all the perks that we enjoy today and take for granted is thanks to the Unions. If we lose Unions in this country, and now that Corporations are “people” we will go back to the days when we had no rights, no one to defend us, or the money to pay for our legal representation. Slowly but surely the Right wants us to go back in time, a time when they had slaves but no responsibility. After all, even slave owners would take care of a sick slave – not out of the kindness of their heart, but as a protection for their investment; as a worker we will not even get that, we will be easily replaceable.
He has the audacity to accuse President Obama for “returning the favor” to Unions in exchange for the “several hundred million dollars” that Unions donated during his 2008 campaign. Taking him on his own word, who is making monetary donations in sums never heard of before during any other political campaign? We all know the answer, the Koch brothers and Citizens United. Never has a Union or a person donated $400 million dollars to a single candidate as they did during the Wisconsin recall elections. Does anyone truly believes that they are donating these fortunes so the working class can have jobs? Does anyone here is so naïve as to believe that Mitt Romney, the Koch brothers or Citizens United care at all for the middle class? Their long-time record says otherwise.
Romney talks with indignation about the American Automobile industry bailout. How dared President Obama bailed them out? Mitt Romney, once again does not care for the worker but the shareholders and creditors, in other words the 1% of this country. About the bailout he says: “Part of this entailed preferential treatment of the United Auto Workers [UAW], at the expense of other stakeholders and creditors – INCREDIBLY, the UAW was given a majority ownership stake in Chrysler.” We don’t hear the same indignation for bailing out the Bank industry and Wall Street after all they are NOT blue-collar workers and I am sure in Mitt Romney’s eyes they deserved to be saved, they deserved every penny. The bailout money received by the Automobile Industry, especially GM did give preferential treatment to their retired workers that were at risk of losing their pensions; second UAW though an agent independent from the Union had been paying for the GM workers’ health insurance since 2005, the workers in order to help save the company, were not getting vacation pay, holidays or overtime. I guess that any sacrifice a blue-collar worker did counts for nothing, blue-collar workers are nothing to Mitt Romney, only white-collar workers matters for him.

Mitt Romney closes the subject of the bailout saying that other companies are now worrying about the “caprice at the hands of government.” Those poor, suffering corporations are breaking Mitt Romney’s heart! The unemployed? They should do the same he suggested to students with little or no income: shop around and settle for less… I guess he believes that unless you are wealthy, you do not need money or a good and rewarding job, you must settle and be happy that at least you are lucky enough “to have a job.”

The Fight Begins Now!

http://artparodies.com/2012/obama-vs-romney-parody/
Fighting out of the blue corner is Barack Hussein Obama, a young, vibrant and freethinker fighter. He stands 6-feet-1-inch tall, weighing in at 165 pounds. He holds a professional political record of 2 wins and 0 losses, with 2 wins by knockout, he is the current and defending President of the United States. Fighting out of the red corner is Mitt Romney, an aging, not so agile, etch a sketch fighter.  He stands 6-feet-2-inches tall, weighing in at 197 pounds with a professional political record of 1 win and 3 losses, all by knockout. Riiiiing... Let the fight begin now!

As we already know, what matters most to Mitt Romney is money, lots and lots of money.

We can easily perceive through his webpage his stands on immigration issues: If you are wealthy, we welcome you with open arms, but if you are poor… you can go to hell!
To corroborate the above statement, Mitt Romney says about immigration that “it is too difficult for businesses to secure visas for foreign workers to make up for labor shortages and gaps in skills.” Labor shortages and gaps in skills, really? How unattached is this guy? Under what rock has he been hiding? Mitt Romney not only believes in outsourcing jobs to other countries for big corporations to make even larger profits but he also wants big corporations to bring to this country workers to occupy the jobs that Americans so desperately need and we can do. Why not provide incentives to these companies to train American workers to acquire the skills they need? No. Mitt Romney is a firm believer in outsourcing and filling the few jobs that are in this country with foreigners, all in the name of profit…

Romney continues to say that President Obama has failed to solve the immigration problems of this country. He really has balls to say such a thing! President Obama has tried to find a solution to the immigration problems faced by this nation since the first year in office but, it has been very difficult to accomplish this when the Republicans in Congress obstruct every effort, not only to solve the immigration problem but any other of the many problems that invade us. Republicans are so adamant to move forward that they have rejected even those bills they have created in the past if President Obama is the one asking for it. They do this to discredit President Obama and proclaim he is a failure. They [Republicans] stopped caring for this country and Americans a long time ago, please notice I didn’t say people, since Republicans do care for some people, they care for those that instead of a date of birth have a date of incorporation.

For years the Dream-Act has been going around in circles in Congress. The Dream-Act has been rejected over and over by Congress, even by those Republicans that not only endorsed it in the past but also helped redact it. Yet, since Congress is so set on their agenda to reject anything that forms part of the President’s promises, it should be of no surprise to anyone that once more the Right Wing in congress obstructed the passage of the Dream-Act, leaving no alternative to President Obama but to turn what otherwise would be a permanent solution into a temporary executive order. Now, Republicans are outraged at his audacity… how dares President Obama pass a “mandate”? No one has ever raised so much as an eyebrow over a presidential mandate before, it is not as if no other president before him have ever signed one, but they must make a big deal if it is President Obama the one that passes it.

Mitt Romney’s page on the Issue of Immigration is full of contradictions. On one hand he says that the system “turns away even those foreign students whom we educate here” and on the next paragraph, he says that President Obama has obstructed “many of the deportation cases” and that “his [Obama's] Department of Justice has sued to stop states from assisting the federal government in enforcing immigration laws.” So which one is it Mitt Romney? President Obama turns them away or has tried to protect them? Take a pick, but it can't be both.

Mitt Romney uses a lot of words hoping to create the perception that he truly has an Immigration plan. We know that he doesn’t have a plan of his own, rather his plan is whatever the Koch brothers and Citizens United tell him it is. His Immigration “plan” is not really a plan, there is none; rather he mentions talking points that he believes will satisfy his base and to superficial to scare potential Hispanic voters. We have been witnesses of the IQ level of most of the GOP followers, they're easy to influence and will believe whatever Fox News pushes down their throat, so these talking point with no specific mention as to how will he solve, implement or accomplish them is what Mitt Romney calls a “plan.”

As mentioned in the third paragraph, Mitt Romney wants to bring foreigners with degrees (obtained somewhere else) to obtain high paying positions that should be given to an American worker. But of course, a foreigner’s salary would be below that of an American performing the same task – so he will push, once more, to benefit corporations rather than American workers.

He is proposing to raise the visa cap for these foreigners, making it even more difficult for American professionals with the same knowledge and expertise to secure a position within a Multinational corporation. Way to go Mitt! Next, he offers to grant permanent residency to graduates with advanced degrees in math, science and engineering – and I am all for that, but… what about those students that got a degree in let’s say, education? Don’t we need good educators in this country or is he going to bring teachers from others countries too?

Furthermore, he claims that he has a “strong stand against illegal immigration” and this is true. On the last year and on the last month of his governorship, Romney signed an executive order (how dare he!) allowing state police officers to round up and arrest anyone suspected of immigration violations and to deport those arrested. There goes that stapled green card to a diploma! That executive order was never implemented because the new Governor Deval Patrick, a Democrat, revoked it a month after he became governor.

Romney says that he will secure the border by completing a “high-tech” fence and increase the border patrol. That sounds very much like the same crap that Herman Cain talked about during his campaign, but since Mitt prefers to keep the suspense about his “plans” no specifics were provided. We can assume if we wish that he wants to build a huge electric fence to keep “illegals” from trespassing our borders… Sure, who cares that the economy is in the red and this fence would cost billions of dollars to build! Let’s build a huge electric fence and the Mexicans will build an even higher rubber ladder! Idiot!

The next item addressed in his website is “Magnets.” He claims that he will establish a “tamper-proof” employment verification system similar to E-Verify that will enable employers to hire only legal workers and turn away those that are “illegal.” With this statement, Mitt Romney is fully placing the responsibility of hiring undocumented workers solely on the worker and not the employer. Granted, there are those that will produce a false or stolen social security to secure a job, but most often than not the employer knows very well that the worker being hired is undocumented, the employers benefits when hiring them because they will work more hours for much lower wages and no insurance coverage, sick days or vacations. But Romney wants us to believe that employers are completely unaware of any illegality and are the victims of those bad, corrupted and undocumented immigrants! There is a system already in place but employers look the other way and play dumb because it provides them with a modern-day slave and if caught, they simply will say they were tricked into it and blame the immigrant. Mitt Romney says that he will also “enforce the law,” because apparently up to now no president has ever enforced the federal immigration law. He is promising to pass the same law he signed on the last month and last year of his reign, I mean, governorship previously mentioned.

And last but not least, Mitt Romney opposes amnesty. Again, there goes the green card to graduates or to the young men and women that wants to serve in the military.

Romney wants to attract the vote of Hispanics, which keeps eluding him. He is aware that if he publicly admits and describes what his plans and opinions towards undocumented immigrants truly are, that will not make him very popular among the Latino voters. He doesn’t care for any worker, undocumented or not, he only cares for the executives and professionals that should come to our shores to take the jobs that Americans can do and that we need so much.

I am amazed that he hasn’t made any changes to his site now that President Obama gave the GOP a slap on the face when, tired of waiting for Congress to pass the Dream-Act, President Obama signed an executive order granting a temporary safe haven to so many children of undocumented immigrants that didn't ask to be brought here.

The GOP keeps obstructing and our President keeps moving forward… with or without their help, but this time President Obama will make sure the American citizens know who is procrastinating, blocking, obstructing and basically denying the opportunity for this country to move forward.

The Republicans want a fight and we have the Champion in our corner. Let the fight begin now! Only one fighter will be left standing and that is President Barack H. Obama!

I thought that the speech that our President, Barack H. Obama, gave today at NALEO which was mainly directed to the Hispanic community deserved to be translated so the message could reach those in our community that do not speak English. Now more than ever the Hispanic community in the United States need to know who is truly standing by their side. Who is truly fighting for their rights. 1:43 P.M. EDT

EL PRESIDENTE: Gracias. Gracias! (Aplausos). Muchas gracias. Gracias.

(Aplausos.) No voy a cantar - no te preocupes. (Risas.) ¡Bienvenido al otro lado de la loma. (Risas.)

Ahora bien, no hemos terminado todavía.

Gracias NALEO (Aplausos). Que Dios bendiga a los Estados Unidos de América. (Aplausos.)
